Senator Judith Zaffirini Welcomes Delegation from Karnes County to State Capitol

(AUSTIN) -- A delegation of Karnes County elected and civic leaders visited Austin on Thursday (March 8) to celebrate the county's rich and unique history and to visit with legislators and state officials. They met with Senator Judith Zaffirini, D-Laredo, who presented the delegation with Senate Resolution 433, which recognized March 8, 2007, as Karnes County Day at the State Capitol.

"I truly am delighted to represent the families of Karnes county and welcome the county's delegation of dedicated elected officials and community leaders to the State Capitol," said Senator Zaffirini. "I also was pleased to present them with Senate Resolution 433, which commemorates their visit, and offer them the Senate's best wishes for a productive, enjoyable and informative visit."

The delegation included County Judge Alger Kendall; Mayor Don Tymrak, Karnes City; Mayor Homer Lott, Runge; Mayor Pro Tempore Ken Reiley, Kenedy; Commissioner Darrell Bashke; Commissioner Isidio Rossett; County Attorney Bob Busselman; and Sheriff David Jalufka.
