SENATOR NELSON RECOGNIZED BY CONSERVATIVE ROUNDTABLE

AUSTIN – Texas State Senator Jane Nelson, R-Flower Mound, will receive two awards from the Conservative Roundtable of Texas in recognition of her leadership during the 85th Regular Session of the Texas Legislature.

“My district is conservative, and they expect me to represent their priorities and values in Austin. To be recognized for leadership on conservative issues and logging a conservative voting record means I am representing the people who sent me here,” Senator Nelson said.

Specifically, she was named 2017 Exemplary Conservative for Budget, Taxes & Governance – the organization’s highest award presented to 11 legislators. She was also named a 2017 Effective Conservative based on her votes on conservative legislation.

“Conservative Roundtable of Texas has recognized members of the Texas Senate and Texas House of Representatives who championed the building blocks of our economy – free market principles, reasonable and limited regulations, adequate and reliable infrastructure, an educated and healthy workforce, low taxation, and efficient government – and who delivered results for Texans,” Robert Thetford, spokesman for the organization, said.

SENATOR JANE NELSON represents District 12, including portions of Tarrant and Denton Counties. She is Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee and the highest-ranking Republican in the Texas Senate.
