Evaluate the deferred maintenance requirements within the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Examine the possibility of allowing political subdivisions or partnerships to operate parks that are not adequately maintained or scheduled for closure.
Recommendation

  • The committee identified $60 million in water/wastewater infrastructure repair and capital improvement needs and $24 million in facility renovations and upgrades.

    Study the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department's involvement in environmental impact studies and endangered species studies.

    None. The committee is satisfied that the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is adequately addressing all of the members' concerns.
