Senate Passes SB 929 to Allow Home-School Student Participation in UIL Events
AUSTIN—The Texas Senate today passed SB 929 authored by Texas State Senators Ken Paxton, R-McKinney and Donna Campbell R-New Braunfels. SB 929 provides home-school students an opportunity to participate in University Interscholastic League (UIL) sponsored activities.
"Currently, home-school students have no choice in participating in UIL activities," said Sen. Ken Paxton. "This legislation provides these students an equal opportunity to participate in academic and athletic competitions alongside public-school students in their attendance area."
