Senator Estes Concludes 18 District Dialogue Meetings Across SD 30
AUSTIN -- State Senator Craig Estes recently concluded the last of 18 District Dialogue meetings held across Senate District 30. The series of District Dialogues featured one meeting in each of the 18 counties comprising Senate District 30 running from September 24 through October 25.
"I am very pleased with both the turnout and the quality of comments at these meetings," said Estes. "These meetings were intended to provide an opportunity for me to hear more from my constituents about issues facing our district and our state, and that is exactly what happened."
During these meetings, Estes provided an update on his legislative agenda in the Texas Senate and a review of the 80th Regular Session, while taking questions from constituents.
Issues commonly raised included the Trans-Texas Corridor, the use of eminent domain, immigration and border security, water resources, protecting the environment, and public education.
"I took in some very good suggestions that I believe the State Legislature should review in the next session," added Estes. "I have always said that the best ideas don't flow from Austin, but rather from our constituents to Austin."
"I want the people of Senate District 30 to know that these meetings were not the only opportunity for a dialogue, and that I welcome and encourage comments and questions on issues important to our region and to our state," concluded Estes.
