Senator José Rodríguez opens Fabens office
Open house to take place Wednesday

Senator José Rodríguez has opened a new office Fabens and invites the community to an open house Wednesday (Jan. 15, 2014).

"I'm extremely pleased to extend constituent services into the community," Rodríguez said. "I hope people will come by tomorrow to meet with me and members of my staff. We're eager to learn more about community issues in Socorro, Clint, Horizon, San Elizario, Fabens and Van Horn, and to make it easier for residents of those areas to physically reach our offices."

The new office is at the Texas Health and Human Services Building, 206 SE 8th St., Fabens, TX 79838. The open house is to be between 5:30-7 p.m. tomorrow (Jan. 15, 2014), and in addition to the Senator and staff, Fabens ISD school board members and the Fabens ISD principal will be present.

The Fabens office joins another new office, in Marfa, designed to bring the Senator's staff and services closer to the District 29 communities he represents. District 29, one of the largest in Texas, covers El Paso, Culberson, Hudspeth, Presidio and Jeff Davis counties, and includes more than 350 miles of U.S.-Mexico border. The two new offices, which are added to the District Office in El Paso and the Capitol Office in Austin, will provide easier access to the rural communities in the sprawling Senate District 29.

José Rodríguez represents Texas Senate District 29, which includes the counties of El Paso, Hudspeth, Culberson, Jeff Davis and Presidio. He represents both urban and rural, and more than 350 miles of Texas-Mexico border. Senator Rodríguez was elected in 2010; he is Vice Chairman of the Jurisprudence Committee and is a member of the Criminal Justice, Veterans Affairs and Military Installations, and Government Organization committees.
