AUSTIN, TX--The Senate Subcommittee on Emerging Technologies and Economic Development will hold a fact-finding hearing on the importance of emerging technologies and economic development in the Rio Grande Valley and South Texas. The meeting will consist of three panels, the first on academics, the second on aerospace industries and clusters, and the third on local government. Invited testimony will be allowed only on the three subjects and not on any legislative bills.
The Subcommittee is chaired by Sen. Carona. Other members include Senators Kip Averitt, Kim Brimer, Craig Estes and Sen. Lucio, who chairs the International Relations and Trade Committee.
