Invitation to grand opening of new district office in Weslaco
AUSTIN, TX -- State Sen. Eddie Lucio, Jr. (D-Brownsville) today extended an invitation to the public and the media for the grand opening of his new District 27 office in Weslaco on Friday, March 21, 2003, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Since my district changed under redistricting, I no longer represent the Edinburg area, said Sen. Lucio. It has truly been an honor and a pleasure to have represented areas like Edinburg, Mission, McAllen (now has only part) and the town of Hidalgo, and I will miss them greatly. However, I am still privileged to represent almost half of Hidalgo County, and for that reason I selected the Weslaco location. My new office will be more centralized and in this manner, will offer my constituents within the county better access.
Sen. Lucio is extending an invitation to residents of his entire District, which encompasses part of Hidalgo and all of Cameron, Willacy, Kenedy and Kleberg counties. His other offices are at 7 North Park Plaza in Brownsville and Room GE.4 in the Capitol in Austin.
Note: Ms. Blanca Villalpando, District Administrative Assistant, will be in charge of the office in Weslaco.
