Walmart Honors American GI Forum at Texas Capitol
The Walmart Foundation to donate $750,000 for National Veterans Outreach Program

What: With a long-standing history of supporting our nation's veterans, the Walmart Foundation is continuing this tradition by awarding the GI Forum with a $750,000 donation. The GI Forum, which assists veterans with securing employment after returning from conflict, has provided substantial aid for America's heroes and will continue to support various services and programs for veterans.

Additionally, this partnership and contribution will jump start Walmart's "Welcome Home Commitment" to hire 100,000 veterans beginning Memorial Day 2013.

The event will take place at the Texas State Capitol on the South Steps and will begin with a presentation of the colors by the Akins High School JROTC program, followed by the singing of the national anthem by San Antonio native and Gulf War Veteran, Jeffrey Charles.
