Senator Van de Putte Recovering From Foot Surgery

(Austin) — Senator Leticia Van de Putte (District 26, Bexar County) is currently recovering from foot surgery to repair an injury sustained this past weekend. The Senator expects to be off her feet for the next two weeks, but will be ready to serve her constituents when the 83rd Legislature begins next month.

While visiting Washington, D.C. for a meeting of the National Conference of State Legislatures followed by a meeting at the White House on human trafficking issues, Senator Van de Putte rolled her ankle on a curb and broke her foot stepping into a pothole. She had her surgery on Wednesday, after returning to San Antonio.

The Senator chose the surgery as the best option for a speedy recovery. The 83rd Texas Legislature begins on January 8, and Senator Van de Putte plans to be in strong health and ready to aggressively pursue her agenda of protecting Texas children and public schools, helping victims of human trafficking, and standing up for our veterans, active military, and their families.
