Senator Van de Putte presents Texas Treasure Business Award to Tip Top Cafe
San Antonio -- On Thursday, April 5, State Senator Leticia Van de Putte will proudly present a Texas Treasure Business Award to one of District 26's outstanding businesses, Tip Top Cafe.
Tip Top Cafe has a history reaching back over 70 years. Tip Top is known for cooking home style meals, including their famous Texas-sized chicken-fried steak and piled high onion rings.
The "Texas Treasure Business Award" was created as Senate Bill 920 and was passed and authored by Senator Van de Putte in the 79th Texas Legislative Session. This award honors businesses that have been in existence in Texas for over 50 years and that have remained committed to Texas for generations by creating jobs and stimulating economic growth. The Texas Historical Commission was selected to administer this tribute.
"Tip Top Cafe is such a great San Antonio institution," said Senator Van de Putte. "Congratulations to Linda DeWese on keeping Tip Top in her family for three generations and providing great food to our community."
The award will be presented Thursday, April 5, 11:00 a.m.-11:45 a.m. at Tip Top Cafe, 2814 Fredericksburg Road. For more information, please visit www.tiptopcafe.com.
