Senator Van de Putte To Visit Woodlawn Hills Elementary
(SAN ANTONIO, TX) -- On Friday, February 9, Senator Leticia Van de Putte (D - San Antonio) will teach the 4th grade students at Woodlawn Hills Elementary about the legislature. The Senator will be on site from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Van de Putte is participating in the "Legislators in School" educational program, sponsored by the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL). The program is designed to teach young people about the processes, pressures and compromise involved in being a state legislator and to encourage student participation in government. The program serves as a chance for legislators to meet their youngest constituents and help students understand the importance of being engaged in government.
