"Now that the Texas Supreme Court has made a ruling on the school finance case, I am eager to get back to Austin and find a final solution on funding our public schools. Regardless of what people think of the ruling, the bottom line is this - we have some work to do, and I look forward to getting started.
The Texas Tax Reform Commission has already begun holding hearings in Austin, and I look forward to working with them to lower property taxes and ensure that every child in Texas has the opportunity to get a first class education.
As always, I will rely heavily on input from my constituents and stakeholders in my district as I work with my fellow legislators on this issue. I am confident that we can find a solution that guarantees results for our children while being fair to all taxpayers."
