SENATOR CARLOS URESTI TO SERVE AS GRAND MARSHALL OF OLD SETTLER'S REUNION PARADE
State Senator Carlos Uresti will serve as Grand Marshall for the Old Settler's Reunion in Camp Wood, Texas on Saturday, August 2nd. The parade, which runs down Main Street begins at 10am and will last about one and a half hours. The Senator will be driven by Carl Cordell of Canyon Construction.
Camp wood is a hidden gem in Real County, was once named "One of the Fifteen most Scenic Spots in Texas" by Texas Highways Magazine, and is nestled in the Nueces River Canyon.
The Senator will address attendees before crowning this year's King and Queen.
"These events are what make District 19 so much fun," Uresti said. "This is such a colorful district with so much history and culture. I am honored camp Wood asked me to participate in such a huge role."
Carlos I. Uresti is the State Senator of District 19, the largest geographical senate district in the contiguous 48 states. Senate District 19 spans a 23 county area stretching along the U.S.-Mexico border, from San Antonio to El Paso County. Covering 55,000 square miles, the district contains 62 school districts, spans two time zones, and is larger than 24 states and 25 countries.
