State Senator Carlos Uresti's Blue Ribbon Task Force is bringing their message of parental support straight to the doors of some San Antonio residents. The "Strengthening Families Block Walk " will provide information and tools for parental support. Volunteers will help spread door bags with tips and bilingual literature with the central message of empowering children and strengthening families. Many households in the 78207 zip code can expect a visit by an eager child advocate.

This is the second Blue Ribbon Task Force Strengthening Families Block Walk. Senator Uresti plans on organizing consistent block walks throughout the city to support and strengthen communities with high instances of reported child abuse, drop out rates, and teenage pregnancy.

Media is invited to join us at our staging area in the PCI/Headstart building from 9:30 -10 a.m. for interviews with the Senator and volunteers. Senator Uresti will be available for comments and questions from members of the media during the event.

Senator Uresti is the founder and chair of the Blue Ribbon Task Force, a local coalition of community members. Carlos I.
