Senator Ellis to Conduct Health Care Tele-Town Hall
(Houston, TX) — Senator Ellis, joined by journalist Roland Martin and Anne Dunkelberg from the Center for Public Policy Priorities, will be conducting a health care tele-town hall meeting at 6:30pm on November 23, 2009.
Senator Ellis will place a call to over 75,000 households in senate district 13 and invite listeners to participate in a discussion on current developments on federal health care reform. Recent efforts to move heath care reform legislation forward in the United States Congress will have a significant impact on Texas, which has the highest uninsured rate in the nation.
Roland Martin is a frequent contributor to CNN and a nationally recognized award-winning journalist. He has won more than 30 professional awards for journalistic excellence, including a regional Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio Television News Directors; top reporting honors from the National Association of Black Journalists; the National Association of Minorities in Cable. and the National Associated Press-Managing Editors Conference.
Anne Dunkelberg is the Associate Director of the Center for Public Policy Priorities (CPPP).
