EMERGENCY RELIEF ON THE WAY TO TARRANT COUNTY
DENTON -- Texas State Senator Jane Nelson, R-Lewisville, today offered her support for the Small Business Administration's decision to assist Tarrant County, which has been declared a disaster area as a result of severe storms and flooding.
"North Texans are accustomed to difficult weather, but this month produced extremely violent storms that have caused significant property damage. The SBA's decision will help those homeowners and business owners in White Settlement, Fort Worth and throughout Tarrant County who were impacted," Senator Nelson said.
Under the SBA assistance, residents and businesses in Tarrant County become eligible for low interest loans through the Small Business Association. Each qualifying homeowner may borrow up to $200,000 and businesses may borrow up to $1.5 million.
For more information, property owners should contact the SBA toll-free at 1-800-366-6303. Applications are also available at the White Settlement Chamber of Commerce, 100 S. Las Vegas Trail, Suite B, White Settlement, Texas 76108.
Senator Nelson represents District 12, which includes parts of Tarrant and Denton counties. Her current committee assignments include Chairman of Health & Human Services; Vice Chairman of the following 3 committees: Sunset Advisory Commission, Senate Government Reorganization, and the HB 2292 Oversight Committee; as well as a member of the powerful Finance and State Affairs committees.
