Davis Receives "Camelot Award" from Child Protection Roundtable
Award recognizing advocacy for children's protections during 83rd Texas Legislative Session

AUSTIN — State Senator Wendy Davis received the "Camelot Award" from the Child Protection Roundtable. The honor is given after each legislative session to a Texas Legislator who shows a commitment to protecting children.

"Where you come from should have nothing to do with how far you can go," said State Senator Wendy Davis. "We have a responsibility to ensure that Texas children have access to the best education possible and that they grow up in an environment in which they can thrive. I'm humbled to receive this award, and will never stop fighting so that all Texas children can create better tomorrows."

Senator Davis received this award following her legislative work on behalf of children. Senator Davis authored and passed two key laws that will help foster youth navigate the education system. She also sponsored a law to increase the reporting of child pornography.

To be considered for the "Camelot Award," legislators must be nominated and then subsequently selected by members of the Child Protection Roundtable which is comprised of over 40 organizations across Texas. For more information about the Child Protection Roundtable or TexProtects, please visit:
