Senator Davis Joins Other Local Officials in Hosting Poly High School Celebration

FORT WORTH - Texas State Senator Wendy Davis will join Representative Marc Veasey, City Council Members Kathleen Hicks and Frank Moss, County Commissioner Roy C. Brooks, and School Board Trustee Christene Moss in hosting a Poly High School Celebration Saturday, October 31 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Facing a possible closure by the Texas Education Agency if it did not sufficiently improve its TAKS test scores, Polytechnic High School learned this summer that its students had achieved their goals of improvement in core academic areas.

"As the senator representing Poly High School, I could not be prouder of these students, parents, teachers and administrators for their hard work and achievement," Senator Davis said. "Poly has set a shining example of how a community can pull together to ensure a better education and brighter future for its children."

The Poly High School Celebration will begin with a parade beginning at Poly High School and proceeding to nearby Texas Wesleyan University. After the parade, Senator Davis and other officials will present Poly High School with congratulatory remarks and resolutions. The celebration will conclude with activities and games for the whole family.
