SENATOR VAN DE PUTTE CONGRATULATES
NEW TEXAS ADJUTANT GENERAL CHUCK RODRIGUEZ

On April 18, 2005, Governor Perry announced his appointment of San Antonio's Chuck Rodriguez as Texas' new Adjutant General.

Senator Leticia Van de Putte, Chair of the Texas Senate Committee on Veteran Affairs and Military Installations, said, "General Chuck Rodriguez is an excellent choice to lead the Texas National Guard in its continually expanding mission. The men and women of the state military forces will continue the proud tradition of answering the call to defend our nation, and General Rodriguez is a perfect example of the capable and resolute military leader. He embodies the values of the National Guard: service, courage, honesty, integrity, respect, and loyalty."

Senator Van de Putte continued, "I know as Adjutant General, General Rodriguez will be vigilant about diversity in our state military forces and will work hard to strengthen family support activities."
