CHILDREN TO PARTICIPATE IN PREMIERE OF TEXAS SENATEKIDS AT STATE CAPITOL
AUSTIN - On San Jacinto Day, children touring the Capitol will witness the premiere of Texas SenateKids - the Senate web page designed especially for children. Senate Media Services will officially launch the page to the Internet on Tuesday, April 21, and has invited those groups of children touring the Capitol that day to participate in the event. Several hands-on demonstrations will take place in the Capitol Extension, room E1.012, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Texas SenateKids is an interactive, informal, and educational web site where kids of all ages can learn about the history, government processes, and legislative figures of Texas through games, photographs, animated characters, and informative reference sections. The children will be shown highlights of SenateKids and have the opportunity to explore the site themselves and to play games and puzzles while learning about the great state of Texas.
Texas SenateKids can be found at www.senate.state.tx.us/kids/.
All media is encouraged to attend this special event on the historic Texas holiday of San Jacinto Day. Please call for further information.
