Senator Nelson Visits Bridlewood Elementary School
AUSTIN — Texas State Senator Jane Nelson (R-Flower Mound) spoke with fourth graders at Bridlewood Elementary School in Flower Mound this morning about state government and her work in the Texas Senate. Bridlewood Elementary is a part of the Lewisville Independent School District (LISD).
"It was such a pleasure to speak with fourth graders at Bridlewood Elementary School in Flower Mound," said Senator Nelson. "As a former teacher and a proud LISD grandmother, it is always fun to be back in the classroom!"
Senator Nelson graduated with a degree in education from the University of North Texas — then North Texas State University — and taught the sixth grade in Arlington ISD. She also taught adult literacy and is a lifetime member of the PTA. Before being elected to the State Senate, she served for four years on the State Board of Education where she led the fight to correct more than 5,000 factual errors in school textbooks.
SENATOR JANE NELSON represents District 12, including portions of Denton and Tarrant counties. She is chair of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee and the highest ranking Republican in the Texas Senate.
