Senate Passes State Senate and State House District Maps
AUSTIN — Today, Senate Bill 31 by Senator Kel Seliger, the proposed State Senate district map, was approved by the Texas Senate by a vote of 29 ayes and 2 nays.
"While drawing this map was not without challenges, I am confident that it is fair, and that it reflects the collective input of members of the Senate and the citizens of Texas. I would like to thank my colleagues in the Senate for their help and hard work to ensure the fair and legal representation of all Texans in the State Senate for the next ten years."
Senate Bill 31 will now be sent to the House of Representatives for its consideration and approval.
The Senate also granted preliminary approval of House Bill 150, the proposed State House District map, on passage to third reading.
