Senator Estes organizes flood assistance event in Gainesville

AUSTIN - State Senator Craig Estes (R-Wichita Falls) is working with Cooke County officials to organize a flood assistance event at the Gainesville Civic Center from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, to provide state and charitable services to those impacted by the devastating floods and storms in Cooke County.

"This is a time to roll up our sleeves and help our neighbors in need," said Estes. "My office is doing everything and anything we can to help those who have suffered through these terrible floods and storms, and I encourage everyone in our communities to come together in this time of need."

Scheduled to provide assistance at the Gainesville Civic Center will be a variety of public and private relief groups including the State Health Department, Texas Department of Insurance, Food Bank, Red Cross, Salvation Army, area churches, and many others. Assistance provided will include food, clothing, clean up information, and building permits for reconstruction.

Everyone negatively impacted with a property loss from the floods in Cooke County are welcomed and encouraged to attend the three-hour event.

"While our hearts are heavy with the loss of life and property, we must now begin the process of recovery and rebuilding," added Estes.
