Senator Craig Estes honored by TAB as ‘Champion for Free Enterprise’
AUSTIN -- State Senator Craig Estes (R-Wichita Falls) has been named a “2005 Champion for Free Enterprise” by the Texas Association of Business.
TAB President Bill Hammond said Estes was cited for his “stellar pro-business, pro-Texas voting record in the 79th Legislative Session.”
TAB’s tally sheet is based on each legislator’s votes on key business issues such as workers’ compensation, tort reform health care, taxation and education.
Estes was named a “Champion” for scoring 91 from a possible 100 points in TAB’s ranking of his votes on 11 pieces of legislation. Being named a “Champion” is the highest honor a legislator can receive from TAB, Hammond said.
“I am proud to receive this recognition for my ongoing efforts to promote an improved business climate and for helping to bring about positive changes for Texasbusinesses, their employees and the consumers,” Estes said.
TAB’s voting record is available for viewing and printing at www.txbiz.org.
