Previous speakers for the Latino Leaders Luncheon Series(TM) have included U.S. Senator Bob Menendez, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, and U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.
Mickey Ibarra & Associates host this quarterly event to provide an opportunity for Latino leaders to discuss key issues in the Hispanic community. Verizon Communications and The Coca-Cola Company are co-sponsors of the 2006 Latino Leaders Luncheon Series(TM).
"We were delighted to welcome the first Latina President-elect of the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) to our luncheon series," said Mickey Ibarra. "During a period when Latinos are finding their voice on the national political scene around the issue of immigration, it is of critical importance to have Hispanic representatives active in government at all levels. Senator Van de Putte is an inspiration to many Latinos for her strong advocacy in Texas on a broad range of issues and will be a welcome ally at the helm of the NCSL."
