Senator Uresti Commends Baker Hughes for Decision to Disclose
"I commend Baker Hughes for their decision to pursue the release of the contents of their fracking mixtures. While state law only requires the disclosure of some of the ingredients, further disclosure to the appropriate government entity is something that has been asked for by many of my constituents in energy-producing areas. This is a big step toward further public acceptance of fracking and the economic opportunities that it has brought to many of our communities."
Sen. Uresti represents Senate District 19, which covers more than 35,000 square miles and contains all or part of 17 counties, two international ports of entry, ten state parks, 61 school districts, 2700 miles of highways, and more than 23,000 producing oil and gas wells. The district is larger than 12 states and 82 Nations, and contains over half of the Texas-Mexico border.
