Senator Nelson Statement on HHSC Holding Contractors Accountable
AUSTIN — Texas State Senator Jane Nelson (R-Flower Mound) released the following statement in support of today's announcement of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission's (HHSC) decision to hold state contractors accountable for failure to live up to the terms of their contract.
"The agency absolutely made the right call to hold this contractor accountable and recover these taxpayer dollars," said Senator Nelson. "We entrusted the contractor to be responsible stewards of our taxpayer dollars, that trust has been broken, and we want our money back. Moving forward we must closely monitor whatever entity assumes this important role."
More information about today's announcement can be found on HHSC's website.
SENATOR JANE NELSON represents District 12, including portions of Denton and Tarrant counties. She is chair of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee and the highest ranking Republican in the Texas Senate.
