Senator Williams Receives Law & Order Award

Recognizes Williams' History of Leadership in Criminal Justice and Public Safety Issues

State Senator Tommy Williams has been honored by the Texas District and County Attorney's Association with its Law & Order Award . The award was presented in recognition of his work on criminal justice and public safety issues during the last legislative session.

"Senator Williams passed critical legislation cracking down on prescription drug abuse and fraud, and also passed key legislation permitting courts to protect the integrity of sensitive criminal investigations," said Shannon Edmonds, Texas District and County Attorneys Association. "This award is also in recognition of his continued efforts in defeating legislation opposed by prosecutors, crime victims and law enforcement officers throughout Texas."

Williams was presented the Law & Order Award jointly by Chuck Rosenthal, Harris County District Attorney, Mike Little, Chambers/Liberty County District Attorney and Cheryl Lieck, Chambers County Attorney at a recent Humble Chamber and Commerce meeting.

"I'm honored to receive the Law & Order Award, and especially to be recognized by these men and women who work every day in their local communities to keep our citizens safe," added Williams.

Senator Williams represents Senate District 4 covering all or portions of Jefferson, Orange, Chambers, Liberty, Harris and Montgomery Counties. Williams serves as Vice Chairman of the State Affairs Committee and as a member of the Finance, Transportation, Education and the Sub-committee on Higher Education in the Texas Senate.
