SENATOR WILLIAMS RECEIVES TEXAS CIVIL JUSTICE LEAGUE AWARD
The Woodlands --- Senator Tommy Williams, (R-The Woodlands) recently received the 2005 Texas Civil Justice League Top Legislator Award for his continued efforts on behalf of lawsuit reform.
Senator Williams sponsored legislation which restored settlement credit provisions vital to a fair and balanced judicial system. The award was presented at the Civil Justice League's 20th Annual Meeting by Dr. Louis J. Goodman, executive vice president and chief executive officer of the Texas Medical Association, and a representative from the Civil Justice League's executive committee.
"Lawsuit reform measures continue to have a positive impact on Texas, and it is an honor to be recognized by the Texas Civil Justice League, one of the state's leading lawsuit reform advocacy groups," Senator Williams said.
Senator Williams represents Senate District 4 covering all or portions of Jefferson, Orange, Chambers, Liberty, Harris and Montgomery Counties. Williams serves as Vice Chairman of the State Affairs Committee and as a member of the Senate Criminal Justice, Education and Finance committees
