STATE LAW ENFORCEMENT GROUP NAMES SENATOR WILLIAMS LEGISLATOR OF THE YEAR
The Woodlands - The Texas Justice of the Peace and Constable's Association, an organization representing over 2,500 Texas Constables and Justices of the Peace, recently presented its Legislator of the Year Award to Texas State Senator Tommy Williams.
"We are proud to present this award to Senator Williams in recognition of his work on many important law and judicial enforcement issues during the 79th Legislative Session," said Harris County Constable Ron Hickman, chairman of the constables' legislative committee. "Senator Williams' work and leadership during the session means our constables and justices of the peace can effectively continue aiding the fine people of Texas."
"It is a tremendous honor to be recognized by a group of officers who serve a very integral part in our Texas judiciary," Sen. Williams said. "These men and women work in our communities and neighborhoods with integrity and are dedicated to the safety and protection of the citizens of Texas. It is a privilege to be recognized by this elite group."
Senator Williams represents Senate District 4 covering all or portions of Jefferson, Orange, Chambers, Liberty, Harris and Montgomery Counties. Williams serves as Vice Chairman of the State Affairs Committee and as a member of the Senate Criminal Justice, Education and Finance committees
