Senator Estes and Representative Hardcastle hosting town hall meeting in Gainesville

State Senator Craig Estes and State Representative Rick Hardcastle will spend Monday, Oct. 7, in Gainesville listening to constituents as they prepare for the coming legislative session.

"We appreciate this opportunity to meet with local officials and residents in Cooke County and hear their concerns, which we will be taking to Austin when the Texas Legislature convenes in January," Estes said.

"I am pleased to be working with Senator Estes since legislative redistricting places Cooke County in both House District 68 and Senate District 30," Hardcastle said.

Estes and Hardcastle will begin their day at 9 a.m. in meetings with directors and residents of Lake Kiowa Property Owners Association coordinated by Lake Kiowa POA manager Bill Keating.

A town hall meeting is scheduled from 1 - 4 p.m. in the library of North Central Texas College campus in Gainesville. Estes and Hardcastle will be introduced by NCTC President Dr. Ronnie Glasscock.

Estes and Hardcastle are scheduled to hear presentations from several local officials from across Cooke County including school superintendents, county officials, mayors, and representatives of law enforcement and emergency services agencies.

A special time has been set aside from 3:30 - 4 p.m. for the legislators to hear from the general public.

"We are looking forward to this opportunity to visit with the people of Cooke County as we prepare for the coming session of the Texas Legislature," Hardcastle said. "We are interested in hearing about their concerns and the comments on the various challenges facing Cooke County residents and their neighbors across House District 68 and Senate District 30.

"I firmly believe that the best ideas don't come from Austin, but from people right here in Cooke County and elsewhere across this great state," Estes said.
