Journalist Shield Law to be Debated in Senate Committee

SB 604 would create a limited protection for Texas journalists

(Austin)// Legislation to create a journalist shield law in Texas will be debated by a Senate committee this afternoon. SB 604 by Senator Rodney Ellis (D-Houston) will create a limited protection for Texas journalists to ensure the free flow of information to the public.

SB 604 will be heard by the Senate Jurisprudence Committee at 1:30 p.m., or upon adjournment on Wednesday, March 30, 2005, in room E1.012 in the Capitol.
