Public Safety Town Hall on Tuesday, March 30, 2004

Dear Neighbor:

I would like to invite you to a town hall that I am co-hosting with Senator Kyle Janek, Representative Martha Wong, Houston City Councilmember Mark Goldberg, and the University Place Association to discuss the recent criminal activity and public safety concerns in the University Place/West University area. The town hall will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 2353 Rice Boulevard, Houston, Texas from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30, 2004. Christ the King Lutheran Church is located at the corner of Greenbriar and Rice Boulevard.

We have invited leaders of the Houston Police Department, the West University Police Department, the Rice University Campus Police, and Constable Jack Abercia to attend and discuss their plans to improve neighborhood security.

The recent criminal activity has created many concerns among our neighbors. I urge you to come to the town hall meeting to discuss these recent events and learn what local law enforcement is doing to solve the problems.

Please make every effort to attend this important community meeting. I hope to see you there. If you cannot attend and want to stay informed about this issue, please register your e-mail address at www.ellis.senate.state.tx.us to receive current district and office news.
